Joint NGO Statements on the Conflict in South Sudan

Today 17 Non Gouvernmental Organisations worldwide, including PAX, asked the United Nations during the 69th Session of their General Assembly for more strategic pressure over the warring parties in South Sudan.

This is critical to bring about lasting peace for the people of South Sudan. Read here the statement of the NGO’s on the necessity of more strategic international pressure on the leadership of South Sudan.

Read also the on 4 September released petition of more than 30 organisations including PAX that calls for an immediate embargo on arms supplies to South Sudan.

On 30 September Bloomberg reported that China, one of the biggest suppliers, halts weapons sales to South Sudan.
