Intern/volunteer Nuclear Disarmament

PAX means peace. Together with people in conflict areas and concerned citizens worldwide, PAX works to build dignified and peaceful societies across the globe. PAX brings together people who have the courage to stand for peace.

PAX's NoNukes team works for a world without nuclear weapons. We are a member of the leadership of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear weapons (ICAN) and lead the global campaign for divestment from nuclear weapon producers. ICAN won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2017 for its work for the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. The PAX NoNukes team combines research, political lobby and public campaigning to achieve our one goal: a world free of nuclear weapons. We are looking to recruit an: 

Intern/volunteer Nuclear Disarmament 

The ideal candidate profile 

We are looking for a colleague with strong organizational skills and a hands-on attitude. You have a keen eye for detail and can work independently. You have a creative mind you are not afraid to take initiative. 


  • Write content for the website, newsletter and produce creative content for social media.
  • Help design and set up creative grassroots actions and events
  • General support for ongoing work of the NoNukes team, including research support for Don’t Bank on the Bomb
  • Administrative support for the NoNukes and Don’t Bank on the Bomb projects

We are looking for  

  • HBO/ WO Bachelor or Master student
  • Good organizational and logistical skills and a great eye for detail
  • A good writer with affinity for social media
  • Excellent Dutch and English language skills
  • understanding or interest in learning about social media and/or KISS communications techniques

We offer

  • A unique experience working within a politically oriented, dynamic peace organization in Utrecht.
  • Appointment as soon as possible for 2-3 days a week for a 3-4 month period.
  • Travel expenses and internship remuneration up to a maximum of € 170, - per month based on fulltime working hours.
  • In addition to the internship experience, there is also room for personal development. Though regular lunch meetings and other activities you can further explore the (international) peace work.
