On 23 April 2013 peace organisation PAX, together with eight other organizations, launched the international campaign to Stop Killer Robots. PAX is the Dutch coordinator of the Campaign.
The international coalition works with researchers, scholars and other experts in the fields of robotics and other military technologies in order to achieve a comprehensive, pre-emptive ban on weapon systems that would be able to select and attack targets without meaningful human intervention. The Campaign believes that human control over the use of violent force is essential to ensure the protection of civilians and to ensure compliance with international law.
