    Nuclear Weapons

    Nuclear weapons are weapons of mass destruction prohibited by an international treaty. PAX is working to make sure the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons enters into force rapidly, and is signed and ratified by The Netherlands. We do this through public campaigning, political lobbying and publications, including the annual Don't Bank on the Bomb global study on investments in nuclear weapons producers.

    The International Campaign to Ban Landmines (ICBL) has been working to achieve a world without Landmines for over 20 years. As an active member, PAX takes part in this campaign to make sure landmines are eradicated for good. We encourage countries to commit themselves to the Mine Ban Treaty (MBT). We encourage states that are already members to strictly implement the treaty

  • Supporting victims in Colombia

    Supporting Victims in Colombia

    In Colombia peace organisation PAX offers support to victims of the armed conflict and their families. In particular, we seek to increase the capacity of victims’ organisations from the Cesar, Cauca and Meta (Macarena) regions to push for the implementation of their rights. Furthermore, in the Cauca region PAX accompanies the reintegration of former (guerrilla) combatants from indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities, who – after the signing of the Peace Agreement – are expected to return to their communities of origin.

    The PAX programme in Iraq aims to address root causes and patterns of conflict, with a particular focus on the lack of inclusive governance, the lack of inclusive transitional justice and the lack of inclusive human security. Cooperating closely with local civil society and peace-activists, PAX implements projects that seek to build trust between and within communities, facilitate dialogue between policy makers and citizens, promote inclusive citizenship, and enhance gender-sensitivity in the security sector.

    Cluster Munitions

    Peace organisation PAX works to ban cluster munitions everywhere in the world. Our aim is to ensure strict compliance with the Convention on Cluster Munitions and call on states that have not yet done so to join the treaty. The convention categorically prohibits the use, production, stockpiling and transfer of cluster munitions.
