Promoting civic space in Sudan: priorities for the European Union

This policy alert deals with the shrinking civic space in Sudan and the European Union and its member states’ policies of rehabilitation of the Sudanese government in the hope that the Sudanese government may help stem migration to the EU.
PAX recommends that the EU and its member states use upcoming opportunities to reiterate their commitment to the rights and freedoms and demand concrete, verifiable progress from the government of Sudan on guaranteeing these basic freedoms and human rights.
